Lauren Gray, Director of Advancement

Lauren Gray is a commitment to community care and to alchemizing their settler colonialist lineage. Growing up in the woods with a large rural family taught them the importance of reciprocity with the land and humans who are different from oneself. After six years teaching college courses and getting their Ph.D., it took too long for Lauren to realize that academia wasn’t going to liberate anyone. Since then, they have collaboratively nurtured nonprofit teams to creatively build communities rooted in equity, solidarity, and care for one another. They live with their mythical sea creature of a partner and their young gender creative transfemme superhero kid on Tocobaga land in Tampa Bay.
