Our trans siblings often face discrimination, bullying, and social isolation, which all have a detrimental effect on emotional health and overall well-being. Access to safe and welcoming environments can protect from these harms and provide trans folks a sense of belonging and support. That’s why it’s so important to advocate for trans-inclusion within our local community spaces like schools, support groups, and community centers. #CantTakeOurPride

Allies may be able to connect with people, resources, decision-making spaces, and other tools that our most vulnerable trans folks can’t easily access. This makes it easier for cisgender allies to:

✅ Advocate for trans people’s needs
✅ Provide opportunities for advancement
✅ Create gender-inclusive spaces

That’s why it’s so important that cis people learn the facts about our community and the challenges we face today. Strong and informed acts of solidarity are crucial to protecting the trans community and saving trans lives. #CantTakeOurPride

#PrideMonth is a time for us to reflect on the legacy of our transcestors, celebrate how far we’ve come, and prepare for the challenges ahead. 54 years ago, TLGBQ people came together to defend themselves against discriminatory laws and police violence at the Stonewall Inn. Today, we stand together against the spread of transphobia and anti-trans laws. If history has taught us anything it’s that no matter how hard bigots may try, they #CantTakeOurPride.
