Transmisogyny

Anti-transgender bigotry—including individual and state-sanctioned acts of violence—directed specifically at transgender women, transfeminine people, and/or gender non-conforming people whose gender expression and/or identity falls on the feminine end of the gender spectrum. While many transgender people will likely experience transphobia at some point in their lives, not all will necessarily confront transmisogyny, a particular kind of marginalization that targets people based on being both female and transgender.

Legal Transition

Refers to one or several processes related to changing one’s name and gender marker on government-issued documents, such as driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and passports.  Part of Larry’s legal transition involved applying for a court-ordered name change. The name on his driver’s license now accurately reflects his identity.
