Outing
The act of disclosing someone’s gender identity or sexual orientation without consent. Abby never discussed her sexual orientation at work out of fear that one of her co-workers would out her to her boss.

Orchiectomy
Surgical removal of the testes (sometimes casually abbreviated as “an orchi”).
Oophorectomy
Surgical removal of the ovaries.
Non-op
A transgender individual who chooses not to undergo gender-affirming surgery. Vanessa is non-op, but her lack of interest in gender-affirming surgery does not invalidate her transgender identity.
Non-binary
An umbrella term used to describe someone whose gender identity falls outside of the traditional Western binary; a gender identity that cannot be classified as exclusively male or female. Synonyms: Nonbinary, NB, Enby. Payton is non-binary—their gender identity fluctuates between male and female, and sometimes they feel they don’t have a gender identity at all.
Mx.

Multigender

Monosexual
