Announcing our Microgrants Program Relaunch!
December 2025
We are so grateful for your patience, understanding, questions, and support. ❤️

Two years ago, Trans Lifeline and TLGBQ+ organizations across the country experienced significant financial downturns as corporate funders pulled out from giving to many of our causes. At the time, we had to make the truly difficult decisions to pause our Microgrants Program, cut our budgets significantly, and unfortunately furlough several members of our staff. You can read that previous announcement here.
Today, we are so grateful to announce that through the persistent focus of our staff and leadership team, and the incredible generosity of our community, Trans Lifeline has been able to relaunch our Microgrants Program. In October 2025 we moved $100,000 directly into the hands of Trans people across the nation and we did it in partnership with local organizations that support trans people directly every day.
We know that many of you may have questions about why we chose to relaunch this program in partnership with local orgs rather than as a public offering and we can explain:
The reality is we are in a social and political climate where trans people are under attack. For trans organizations the experience of being targeted is no different. Whenever we open an application, pick up a call on the hotline, or even make a post on social media – Trans Lifeline (and many TLBGQ+ orgs) are regularly subjected to a range of bad faith engagements, from pranks and harassment to actual threats to our staff and organization. The effort needed to buffer our systems and resources against these attacks is extensive, and that goes double for a Microgrants Program offering funds to support people’s lives.

Lavender Rights Project

Lavender Rights Project is a Black Trans feminist organization committed to dismantling oppressive systems that disproportionately harm Black communities. We believe that those most impacted by injustice are the architects of liberation, and we ground our work in their lived experiences, resilience, and leadership. Through policy and legal advocacy, movement lawyering, community organizing, and wraparound supportive housing, we build pathways to justice, empowerment, and systemic change.

Now, more than ever, trans people need material support. Trans people are twice as likely to be living in poverty compared to cisgender people, and are disproportionately unsheltered. You can support our microgrants program to help get trans people the resources they need by giving a one-time or recurring donation at translifeline.org/donate.
