Bianca Salvetti, Board Member

Dr. Bianca Salvetti, DNP, CNS, CPNP, (she/her/hers), joined the Trans Lifeline Board of Directors in 2018. She began her pediatric nursing career in 2005 and has been the sole Nurse Practitioner in the Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, one of the largest youth programs caring for gender diverse youth in the US, since 2012. She provides patient-centered care to youth using an informed consent model. She was the principal investigator for a novel web-based study assessing chest binding practices among gender diverse AYA and its effects on mental health, which was selected by the Journal of Adolescent Health as one of 2021’s Distinguished Dozen articles.

She graduated from UCLA in 2009 as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist. She returned to UCLA complete her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2022, where she developed and implemented a web-based decision aid on gender affirming treatment to improve knowledge and decisional conflict amongst gender diverse youth and their caregivers. Bianca is passionate about engaging in clinical, educational, and research program development locally and nationally that focuses on improving the physical and mental health of youth – including youth living with HIV, reproductive and sexual health, and youth experiencing homelessness.
