Welcome Laurien Moore (she/her) and Lexi Adsit (she/her) to Trans Lifeline

September 18, 2025

Trans Lifeline exists because we believe every trans person deserves to live fully and authentically, without judgment, barriers, or fear. Together with our community of peers and allies, we’ve reached milestones that once felt out of reach! From a vibrant Pride season to deepening relationships with donors, fellow trans-led organizations, and grassroots funders, to the steady word-of-mouth support and growing recognition across our communities – these victories belong to all of us.

We’re proud to say that Trans Lifeline is financially strong thanks to the generosity and trust of our community. And while we celebrate this stability, we know the reality: political attacks on trans lives remain relentless. They want to stop us, but it won’t work. They will only strengthen our dream and ability to build a future that is safer, inclusive, and more empowering for everyone in our trans community.

To guide us in this next phase, we’re excited to welcome two incredible leaders onto the team: Laurien Moore (she/her) and Lexi Adsit (she/her). Both of them bring invaluable insights, strategic expertise, and deep commitment to not only the work we do, but the people we serve.

Laurien and Lexi will be working closely with our Executive Director and leadership team, offering mentorship and guidance to help us strengthen and expand our work. Together, Trans Lifeline continues to grow and better support our community.

Laurien Moore (she/her)

Laurien Moore is a Black, queer, trans leader who brings over 18 years of experience in policy advocacy, (domestic) violence prevention, and community engagement, supporting: youth, women, LGBTQ people, BIPOC communities, grassroots organizers, service providers, community-based organizations, nonprofit boards of directors, philanthropic institutions, local government agencies, and elected officials.

She holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Health (Yale School of Public Health), and grounds her work in community-driven policy advocacy, survivor-centered evaluation, and collective liberation principles. She strives to increase healthy equity, like access to economic stability, through creating a deeper understanding of the relationship between demographic identities like race, gender, orientation, ability, and social drivers of health. Drawing from lived experience and rooted in social justice frameworks, she supports organizations and communities through participatory research facilitation, policy development, infrastructure design, strategic planning, and conflict navigation.

Outside of her consulting and organizing work, Laurien enjoys birdwatching, woodworking, building the perfect cheese plate, and contemplating life’s evolution across the geological time scale. She also finds joy in reflecting on the political legacy of Tina Turner, Nina Simone, and Dr. Maya Angelou. On any given day, you might find her browsing a local market, roller skating by the water, and either dreaming about or actively enjoying New York bagels with French butter. And of course, she is over the moon excited to deepen her relationship with Trans Lifeline, to learn from and work alongside the amazing folks that manifest the most important magic.

Lexi Adsit (she/her)

Lexi Adsit (she/her) has spent the past five years as an Executive Director at numerous trans-led organizations in the arts and workforce development. She grew up in San Leandro, CA getting involved in activism at a young age as a queer youth and later as a transgender woman. She attended San Francisco State University, receiving her Bachelor’s in Women and Gender Studies and her Masters in Ethnic Studies. She spends her downtime playing gay dodgeball and volleyball across the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are so excited for you both to join our team! Together, we will continue to work towards living out our principles and advocating for our rights. The journey ahead is just the beginning! And we can’t wait to see what we will accomplish next, hand in hand with all of you.
